Not going to lie, when I see fantasy art with a busty woman in armor that either has a cleavage gap, or armor boobs, my first thought is not “OOH BOOBS!” but rather “Well.. looks like we know who is dying first.” Seriously if I was wearing armor I would rather it not break my sternum when I took a hit or deflect blows into the center of my chest, or just leave a big hole there for someone to shoot me.

Calling all players.

One of my current, and longest running, campaigns is currently in a Valhalla of sorts filled with great warrior from many worlds.
Because of this I need a bunch of NPCs
I have already designed around 40+ unique NPC for this but then I realized. Why don’t I turn to the internet for help.
If you send me an ask with your D&D/Pathfinder character I will be eternally grateful and probably promote your blog in about a week.
Thing I am looking for are:
Name
Class/level(Although if low level I will probably make them higher level)
Physical description
Personality
Those would be great and if you really want to get into it.
Feats
Items
Spells  would be killer.

This is a lot of work, and unlike my players I can’t reward loot or xp for doing it but it will allow you character to live on in other campaigns(mine), and really help me out.

Thanks

I am on the finale of the second season of Game of Thrones. Looks like I am going to have to re watch Heroes after this, unless someone can give me a better suggestion.

Fantasy book

  • So I am writing a fantasy book, I plan on really going through with this plan. It could actually make me money, the story is really good, lots of twists and turns, but I am not sure if I want to post it on Tumblr or not. If I do I might draw some fans, maybe I could get some helpful feedback. But then is is also on the internet forever and always. If the book started selling people could just find it on my tumblr for free. Now, It is not too much different than piracy, where someone could just scan it and turn it into a PDF, BUT in order to do that I would have to sell at least one copy first, and that is better than it being free for everyone.
  • So what do you think? Should I put it on tumblr, or "Keep it hidden, keep it safe."-Gandalf?

Prologue Part 1

“Cellar door! Just like I told you.” The harsh voice of his wife barely registered to the grumbling middle aged man. Fix the door, fix the door. The voice of Floyd’s wife rang in his head. Her nagging was never ending. Why he married her he will never know. If only he had gone with his cousins to Ordulan when he was younger he might have been able to meet a fair young maiden. Perhaps he would have been able to marry into a wealthy family like Leo, or come about great riches like Hector. Floyd’s imagination quickly began to wander, he was no longer a middle aged handyman, now he was a great hero feared by evil and adored by the people. He no longer felt any pain in his knees as he was running on the rooftops of a foreign city. Wielding the sword of legend he an unstoppable force for good.

A flash of white in his eyes and quick smack to the side of his head brought Floyd back to reality. “Stop staring at those dirty old tools and fix the wretched door already!” Margeux’s words stung worse than her hand. “When you are finished you can make yourself a sandwich, we need to use this meat before it goes bad.” Her voice grated against his ears just as if it was the cheese he would soon be putting on his sandwich.

“What do we have for bread, right now?” As soon as he asked Floyd realized he should have just had the patience to see for himself.
“Pumpernickel, just like yesterday, and they day before that, and the day before that! And don’t you try using that so called bad memory of yours to get out of fixing the shutters tomorrow. You have been putting those off for two weeks now, any longer and they will fall off.”

“You know I can’t, tomorrow is the fifteenth. I am going to go tidy up the cemetery tomorrow. Just like I do-”

“Let someone else tidy up the place, they have a groundskeeper don’t they. They don’t need my husband to go do someone else’s job just because they groundskeeper is too lazy to -”

“Damnit woman!” Floyd was no longer working on the door, his knuckles white as he gripped the handle of his hammer. He had, had enough of Margeaux’s nagging for one day. “Do you think that just once you could remember things that are important to me! I am going out, I’ll be back when I feel like it.” Floyd hastily headed for the door hoping that he could get there before Margeaux could throw in a last few words. He reached for the old bronze handle, it still caught when he turned it, just another project he never got around to fixing.

“He died over twenty years ago, Floyd! Get on with you life, I still expect this the door and the shutters to be fixed by tomorrow night or else don’t expect any supper on the table.”

“You can’t even cook!” Floyd slammed the door behind him. Before he could get a few steps from the door there was a crack and the sound of wood falling. He didn’t have to look to realize it was one of the shutters on the front window so he continued walking.

There was a full moon out allowing Floyd to see quite clearly when a cloud was not blocking it. He slowly began to head towards the tavern down the road, he did not drink often but it seemed like tonight would be one of those nights. The lights of the old two story building could been seen from quit far away as the owner decided to put a small tower with a light atop the roof to help draw customers. Many a night he would take the walk down the tavern to escape Margeaux’s bite. She wasn’t always that way, it really began about ten years back when they realized that they would never have children. From that day on she took the anger towards herself out on her husband.

There were only a few people at the bar; a few regulars, old men who liked to tell stories, a younger lad who did not look like he was from around here, and a pleasant young lady who eyes sparkled a bright blue. She smiled at him as he entered the tavern. He ordered himself a drink, when he finished that one he ordered himself another. Before he knew it he was off the deep end and his head found a nice resting place on the counter.

New Project. Story time

I will be writing a story that will probably end up being very long. I have the majority of it written in my head, it is a fantasy. It will be a rough draft… No one will probably ever read it but oh well.

Oh and I will include illustrations every once in a while including a map.

Time Travel in a Fantasy Theme

I have always found it to be an unwritten rule that time travel is only for Science fiction, there is just a deep connection between time travel and technology. After some deep thinking, okay well it was more like deep sleeping, I came to the conclusion that that is just totally redonkulous. SILLY FOOLISH PEOPLE WHO THOUGHT THAT WAY AND YES I AM TALKING TO YOU AUTHOR OF THE SUN TREADERS WEB COMIC. Me? YES YOU!

Alright now that we have gotten past that weird moment where I talk to myself I can get to the good part. Firstly, when comparing Fantasy and SciFi I am not talking about Tolkein fantasy (sorry), I am talking about High Magic fantasy were Wizards can call down a meteor storm, stop time, and bend the fabric of reality with a wish spell. The idea really came to me when I realized that with magic this powerful, where a Cleric can call upon his deity and not only regrow limbs, fix blindness, but actually bring back the dead. In a super advanced Sci-Fi theme the laws of physics usually still apply thus creating a limit or at least a hindrance to many mind bending exploits.

So I say in a world where, if you spend enough years flipping through ancient texts and studying the arcane arts, you can just throw the laws of physics out the window, shouldn’t time travel occur somewhat frequently. So I guess I am posing two questions here, what are your thoughts of time travel in Fantasy, and after reading the paragraphs following this one, which is you favorite type of time travel.

Over the years there have been hundreds of different types of time travel from Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure, to Star Trek, to Danny Phantom. But which is your favorite? Ill cover the basics here with a few examples.

(Sheriff Carter and Dr. Grant, Einstein-Rosen Bridge)
I’ll cover the more excepted theory, The Einstein Bridge, first. This is the worm hole theory, where basically two points in time can be connected with a hole in time and space. Depending on the variation of the theory these holes will either connect to a different time on in the same universe, or to an alternate universe. That brings me to my next example, Sliders, where they didn’t actually time travel but because they went to alternate universes, different events never happened causing the current time to appear totally different. It varied from dinosaurs, to the 60’s to medieval Europe, to an extremely advanced society, etc.
Lastly before I get into time travel with a vehicle I would like to touch upon my favorite type of time travel, Quantum Leap. Dr. Sam Beckett theorized that one could time travel within their own life time, by sending their brainwaves through time, not any mass. My favorite part in this is not just that he takes over the bodies of others, and that he teaches Buddy Holly the song Peggy Sue and Michael Jackson the moonwalk, but how he gets the idea. He gets the idea as a child while watching a science fiction show, eventually during his travels he is on that very show and causes his ideas to be displayed on said show, thus giving himself the idea in the first place. Lastly the show incorporates religion into time travel in a very tasteful way.

I now get to my last section, time machines. The oldest account of a time machine that I have personally read is the novel by H.G. Wells… called The Time Machine. But there have been much more recent displays, particularly Back to The Future, and Dr. Who, anyone care for a Jelly Baby? By using a time travel the user can travel from one point in time unscathed compared to ideas similar to the Terminator, where the traveler arrived naked.. The two biggest differences between Traveling in the Tardis and the Delorean, is that with the later it is nearly impossible not to change the future by traveling to the past. Each time Marty’s actions cause a significant change in his town. In Whovian time, however, there are fixed points in time, where no matter what you do they will always happen. I could go on about this forever but I will leave with a question instead.

What is your opinion on time travel in a Fantasy theme, and what is your favorite type of time travel?
